This policy explains what personal information RIGFOA collects through this website and through its platform services, why we collect it, and what rights you have. It applies to rigfoa.org and to services delivered from it.

Information we collect

Information you provide

When you contact us, request a demonstration, or apply for membership we collect the information you enter: name, organisation, job title, email address, telephone number, and the content of your message. We ask you not to send confidential or personally identifiable third-party information through our web forms.

Information collected automatically

If you accept analytics cookies, we collect standard usage information: pages visited, referring page, approximate location derived from a truncated IP address, device type and browser. Analytics remain disabled until you accept. If you decline, no analytics identifiers are set.

Information processed on behalf of member entities

Where RIGFOA processes financial records for a member entity under a services agreement, we act as a processor on that entity's instructions. Those records are governed by the agreement rather than by this policy. We do not use entity data to train models, we do not pool it across entities, and we do not share it with other members.

Why we process it

To respond to enquiries and provide requested services — necessary for a contract, or our legitimate interest in responding to you.
To send the research digest, where you have asked for it — consent, withdrawable at any time.
To understand how the research library is used — consent, via the cookie banner.
To meet legal, accounting and records obligations.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share it with service providers who host our site, deliver our email, and provide analytics, each under contract and only to perform those services. We disclose information where required by law, and we will notify the affected person unless legally prohibited.

Retention

Enquiry correspondence is retained for three years from the last contact. Membership records are retained for the duration of membership and seven years afterwards for accounting purposes. Analytics data is retained for fourteen months. Entity data processed under a services agreement is deleted within thirty days of a request, subject to any legal hold.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information; to object to or restrict processing; and to withdraw consent. You may also have the right to appeal a refusal, and to complain to your supervisory authority. To exercise any of these, write to us at the address below. We respond within the period required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for making a request.

International transfers

We are based in the United States and process information there. If you contact us from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States under appropriate safeguards.

Children

This site is directed to public finance professionals and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

We will post any change on this page and update the date above. Material changes will be identified in a note at the top of the page for at least ninety days.
